I have been working as Systems Engineer since last 8 years in healthcare sector. My core skill set includes C/C++,PL/SQL,Pro*C, Python and Unix shell scripting. My responsility includes Requirements gathering, Systems Analysis, Design, Coding,Documenting and helping testers in integration and User acceptance testing.
I like to keep myself updated with the new skills and therefore I took route of masters education to gain Data Science skills in last two years. I have finished my Masters in Data Science from Southern Methodist University, Dallas,TX in Aug-2021 and now exploring more options, taking part in hackathon and utilizing skills on the job etc.
Previously I have worked in Life insurance and brifely in Telecom domain where I was involved in coding using C++,PL/SQL,CORBA.
Now since I have already started my Data Science journey through my education, My goal is to stay and grow in this field in next few years.
Following are key highlights of year 2021:
Work with Business Analysts and other stakeholders for drafting requirements
Once requirements are finalized, identify changes in the system as per requirements and map solutions to requirements.Draft design document with all the details.
Make the changes in the system with appropriate unit test cases and prepare unit test document
Help the testers in preparing/reviewing test plan and actively work with them throughout testing phase.
Core skill set : C/C++, Pro*C, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, SVN, Python, R
In my current project C/Pro*C, Unix is dominating. We have huge system written in C/Pro*C,Oracle on Unix. Some part is in python and User interface powered by Powerbuilder and C#. Our DevOps process is streamlined. We follow monthly release and standard SDLC for moving system changes to production. Various parties are involved in strigent review process in each phase starting from requirement to production. Client closely monitors and reviews all releases.
